Shri Sat guru Brahma Nand Bhuriwale Garib Dassi Rana Gajinder Chand Girls College, Mansowal affiliated to Punjab University Chandigarh was established by Maharaj Bhuriwale Education Trust in 1997 to realize the dreams of Third Gaddinasheen of Bhuriwale Garibdassi Sect. Sh. Sh. 1008 Brahmleen Swami Brahma Nand Bhuriwale who dedicated his life to the service of humanity. Presently the college is being run under the kind patronage of Vedant Acharya Sh. Chetna Nand Ji Maharaj Bhuriwale. The building of this college is constructed on the land donated by Sh. Yatinder Chand Tikka and Rana Naginder Chand (sons of Rana Gajinder Chand). The college is built up in a rural area with an explicit aim of educating and empowering the girls of this backward area who were deprived of higher education due to their locality and lack of financial resources.
This college is situated in the foothills of Shivalik in a spacious campus of 18 acres surrounded by environment of natural beauties and greenery all round. This college has proved to be great blessing for the girls of these rural areas. Earlier they had to move to Garhshankar for higher education.
College has enough infrastructure and playgrounds for Football, Basketball, Badminton, Yoga, Kho-Kho & Kabbadi. It has also a fully equipped library where students can have access to many reputed Journals, Magazines, News Paper & Books of literature and other related information pertaining to higher studies. To enable the girls to keep pace with the changing needs of this globalized world of technology, a modern Computer Lab is well maintained which provides high speed internet access to gather latest information.
Today we are facing a big challenge of moral laxity in our societies. So, education should not aim at to stimulate intelligence only but to inculcate in them a strong desire for the development of moral values and commitment towards the society. It is well said that if you “Educate man, you educate an individual & if you educate a woman, you educate a generation. So, girls should be prepared in such a way that they may shape our future generations as better human beings to serve better for the upliftment of societies.
